About us
Our Story
The Road Church was born from a vision God placed in the heart of our founding pastor, Glenn, and his wife Stacy. Sensing a call to preach and pastor, Glenn and Stacy stepped out in faith, leaving behind the familiar to pursue a bold mission alongside a dedicated eldership team of three couples rooted in God’s Word. Together, this group prayed, planned, and trusted God to guide their steps.
The journey officially began on July 11, 2010, when The Road Church, originally known as Damascus Road Fellowship, held its first gathering in a historic downtown building under renovation. With no air conditioning, windows, or finished walls, a small group of 20 people set up lawn chairs, cleared out construction dust, and experienced church in its most authentic form—a community seeking God together.
By 2016, God opened the door for us to purchase that very same building! This milestone allowed us to become a permanent part of our downtown community, where we could better serve the city we love. From hosting events like Polka Fest and the Christmas Parade to opening our doors to bless our neighbors, The Road Church has remained a place where people encounter Jesus and experience His love in action.
With a passion for Jesus and an unwavering faith, Glenn led our church from its first gathering in a dusty, unfinished downtown building to becoming a vibrant, growing community of faith. In August 2024, Glenn went to be with the Lord, leaving behind a powerful legacy of love, courage and transformation. His leadership and heart for people remain at the core of who we are today. While we deeply miss him, we are committed to carrying forward the mission God started through him: to see lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
